Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 Act 2 – To Visages Walkthrough

After revisiting Old Lumière, you've now arrived at a crucial point in your adventure. Before you take on the two Axons (Sirène and Visages), there's a whole new area of the Northern Continent to explore. This guide will walk you through everything you need to discover, from hidden treasures to optional bosses, ensuring you're fully prepared for the challenges ahead.

Northern Beaches

When you arrive back on the Continent, you'll find yourself on a beach north of Old Lumière's crater. The Paintress seems so close now compared to when we first saw it in the Prologue; it’s because we are now close to the final area. The main mission is to defeat the two Axons, one in Visages and one in Sirene. You can immediately see these islands now, as they are not that far.

However, there are a lot of things to discover, collectibles to collect, weapons to upgrade, and enemies to tackle. It is best to have Monoco in your party now, because we are going to fight a lot of different enemies, so he can snatch their legs and unlock new abilities.

But don't rush straight to these islands! There's plenty to explore first, and some valuable loot to collect now that Esquie can swim through coral reefs. Swim west until you find a small island with some trees on it. Head there and defeat a group of enemies. You will get Crulleram (Lv 10) and Chation (Lv 10).

From here, swim north until you reach an island with some red trees on it get onto the narrow beach. Follow the path and kill the enemies on the right. Turn left and head up the slope to see a couple of Mimes, standing together and gazing into each other’s eyes. Oh, so sweet… Let’s kill them.

The mechanics are still the same as the previous Mimes, so just bring anyone who can Break them and everything will go smoothly. Defeating them grants you Voluminous Haircut for Lune and Sciel. This haircut fits perfectly for Sciel.

Behind the Mimes' location, you'll also find another Lost Gestral. Talk to it to send it back to camp.

Northeast of this island is the Visages, the island where we are going to go for the main mission. But let’s ignore this creepy face-covered island for now, as there is still much more to discover.

Head north from Visages island to see a small island with a portal between pillars and a Gestral Merchant. Skip this one as we can’t reach it yet. Continue north and look for a small beach on the right side. Get onto it to discover Journal - Expedition 40 and Granasori, a Gestral Merchant selling Verso Outfit - Pure and Lune Haircut - Double Braid.

Next, swim further north towards the glowing energy wall, and a cutscene will play.

Western Beaches

After the cutscene, let’s swim back towards the small island with a portal that we can’t reach yet. From there, swim directly west to find a beach. Get there and kill the enemies to get Pictos - Energising Pain (Lv 12) and Monoco Weapon - Ballaro (Lv 12). On the same island, there is a Paint Spike you can break to get Pictos - Critical Break.

Now, get back to the water and hug the western wall to reach another beach. Defeat the enemies to get Weapon - Battlum (Lv 11) and Lune Weapon - Colim (Lv 11), and Troubadim (Lv 11). Swim further south to see a small beach with a portal that goes to The Crows. We’re going to pass it for now.

Continue south, and just before the coral wall, there is a beach on the left with a scary-looking enemy on it, that’s Chromatic Moissonneuse. This field boss is quite tough and challenging, but if you can beat it, you will get Moisson, a level 17 weapon for Sciel, which can really help your journey forward. You will also get Resplendent Chroma Catalyst x2 and Colour of Lumina x5.

It’s weak to Dark and Fire, so focus on attacking with those elements. Also, try to trigger a Break whenever possible, it makes a big difference. This boss only uses two attack patterns: a short combo and a long combo. Take time to learn their timing with dodges first before attempting to parry them.

After beating it, don’t forget to get the Chroma x3,885 at the small camp just behind its position.

Southern Beaches

From here, keep swimming south while hugging the western wall. After you have passed the narrow waterway, you will reach a bigger area with 2 beaches, one on the east and one on the west. Let’s go to the west beach first. Follow the path, kill the only enemies there, and get the Pictos - Critical Vulnerability on the small camp behind them.

Now, head to the other beach (east of this island) and kill the enemies there. Behind them, there is a camp on the right containing Chroma x2,285. Further behind, you will find Papasso, a Gestral Merchant selling:

  • Maelle Haircut - Messy Bun
  • Lune Haircut - Messy Bun
  • Sciel Haircut - Short
  • Verso Haircut - Gustave's Haircut

After getting what you need, head back to the water and swim southeast. Follow the narrow passage, and on the right, you will see a beach with a portal to the Falling Leaves area. Continue along the southeastern passage to reach another coral wall, which you can break and make way to the middle part of the Continent.

Eastern Beaches

From here, keep swimming towards the east, past the Boat Graveyard beach, and you will see a small glacier island with a building on top of it, which we can’t reach yet. From this point, head north and turn left toward a cul-de-sac island.

Go there and you will fight a field boss, Chromatic Cultist Reaper, not that hard to beat. This boss will drop Verso Weapon - Blodam, Resplendent Chroma Catalyst x2, and Colour of Lumina x5. Behind it, there’s a small camp containing Journal - Expedition 43.

Now, head back toward the small glacier island and swim towards a narrow waterway on the northeast. Continue until you reach an intersection. Go ahead and kill the group of enemies on the first beach to get Lune Weapon - Saperim (Lv 14), Monoco Weapon - Ballaro (Lv 14), Maelle Weapon - Stalum (Lv 14). Beside them, there is a Lost Gestral between the huge pots.

If you go to your camp now, you will have a lot of attribute and skill points to spend. If you have been using Monoco, check out his skill tree, he should have collected a lot of new skills by now.

Head back to the water, and if you check the southern path, it will lead to the Boat Graveyard. Now, go back to the intersection and let’s head to the northern path. Swim along and you will find a small beach on the right containing a Colour of Lumina. Continue north until you reach a large open area, Visages should be visible in front of you. Check the beach on the left side for Chroma x2,715.

From here, swim east, through the corals, towards a small rocky island. There's a camp containing Chroma x3,885. Beside it, you will find Rederi, a Gestral Merchant selling:

  • Sciel Haircut - Rebellious
  • Lune Haircut - Half Ponytail
  • Record - Robe de Jour

North of this area is an island with a Roman-style building, that is Sirene, the second Axon location. Swim east of Sirene to find a beach with a portal towards Gestral Beach IV (Northeast)

Still on the same beach, head east to find a group of enemies guarding a Paint Spike. Kill them to get Weapon - Gaulteram (Lv 10), and destroy the Paint Spike to get Chroma x2,285.

Across this island to the east, you will see another island with red trees on it. Go there and kill the enemies to get Lune Weapon - Troubadim (Lv 14) and Pictos - Confident (Lv 14). There is also a portal towards Sinister Cave here, but let’s skip it for now.

From here, swim northwest towards a small island just beside Sirene. There, you will find crates containing Chroma x4,515. After picking it up, swim southwest towards the creepy face-filled island that is Visages.

The Camp

Before heading inside the Visages portal, it’s best to go back to your camp first. Talk to Sciel to raise her relationship level to 3, and Lune to 4. You can also talk to Sastro to get additional rewards, Verso Haircut - Gestral, and Colour of Lumina x3.

Make sure to level up your attributes and skills before going to sleep, and continue to the Visages.
