Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 Act 2 – Path to Forgotten Battlefield Walkthrough

After the emotional cutscene where Gustave is killed and Verso introduces himself, Act 2 begins with you taking control of the new character, Verso. You'll find yourself back on the world map on a small island, with your next objective being the Forgotten Battlefield. However, the continent offers lots of things at this time. If you're speedrunning and want to skip to the main story, you can do so, but if you want to fully explore this area, this guide will help you find everything.

The Continent (Southwest Exploration)

Southwest of the island you spawn on, you'll notice a portal. Head to this island to find the portal to Crushing Cavern. Adjacent to this island is another area where you'll find a camp with Colour of Lumina in the area with broken ships. Explore this area thoroughly as there are enemies here, including Bruler, Greatsword Cultist, and Abbest, plus a camp that can be looted for Pictos - Energising Heal.

Head south from this area until to reach an island with a whitish mountain. Get to this island and you'll find a portal entrance to the White Tree area, which is a small one-screen zone where you can grab a Journal and a Music Record. Additionally, on the left side of the portal, you'll see a tall grass area, head there to find a camp with Pictos - Shared Care.

After collecting these items, head east from this White Tree portal island to reach another island with the Gestral Beach portal. There is another island in this area - reach there by crossing the White Tree area, and you'll find a beach area where you will come across the Chromatic Jar boss. Right behind where the boss stands, there's a small camp with a Colour of Lumina inside. Once you've collected what you can, swim back to the spawn island.

The Continent (Northwest Exploration)

Once you are back at the spawn location, you'll see an island Northwest of the spawn point. Swim there and in front of a broken ship on the island, you'll find a gestral merchant named Geranjo who sells Lune Outfit - Skirt, Maelle Haircut - Vintage, and Maelle Outfit - Civilian for 1,000 each. Next to the merchant, you'll also spot some crates containing Colour of Lumina.

Keep following the western shore of this island until you reach a beach where you'll find another Colour of Lumina. You'll also notice a giant creature half-submerged in water - that's Sprong, one of the strongest bosses in the game, so don't attempt to defeat him at this point. Continue moving on the beach and on the right side ledge, you'll notice a door that leads to a manor.

The Manor

When you enter the manor, you'll find yourself in the library with a spiral staircase in front of you. Head up the stairs and keep moving forward until you can interact with the book next to the night lamp. Doing so will open a secret door. On the desk inside, you'll find Verso Outfit - Civilian.

Return to the place you reached after climbing the stairs, then take the left path behind the stair. You'll see ledges - use them to reach the Shape of Energy at the end. Drop down and head back to the door in the hall to return to the continent.

The Continent (Southeast Exploration)

From the starting island, swim southeast to reach a beach with the "Stone Wave Cliffs" portal. Right in front of the portal, you'll notice a gestral merchant named Colaro. You can purchase Sciel Haircut - Vintage and Maelle Haircut - Double Braid for 2,000 each. After this, use the Stone Wave Cliffs portal.

The moment you enter this area, look to your left to see a lantern. Close to it will be bodies of dead expeditioners, where you'll find Pictos - Defensive Mode. Keep following the main path in this area until you reach a cliffside with lamps that glow when you get closer. Here you'll find Record - Gustave. After collecting this, return to the continent as there's still more to explore.

The Continent (Continued Southeast)

Once back in the area, swim east to another island with a portal (Stone Wave Cliffs Cave) and a gestral merchant named Appla in front of wooden shacks. He sells Lune Haircut - Braid and Sciel Haircut - Short Curly for 1,000 each.

After this, go to the extreme south toward a bent tower visible in the distance. When getting close, look to the right and you'll notice an area with many broken ships on the shore. You'll recognize this location by its striking red color. Here you'll find the portal to Dark Shores. Left of the portal, break some crates to get Pictos - Dead Energy I.

Return to the water and start moving north until you notice an island with a huge structure on top that seems like it is floating. Follow the passage through the trees to discover a camp with Journal - Expedition 64 on the left side.

Keep following this path until it splits in two. If you go left, you'll find a portal to The Meadows. Enter this area, and right in front of the glowing tree, you'll see a Music Record. Return to the intersection, and if you go right, you'll notice a camp on the right side with Colour of Lumina and a Bourgeon boss. Defeating this boss will reward you with Lune Weapon - Potierim, Verso Weapon - Abyssram, Pictos - Augmented Counter, Bourgeon Skin, and Polished Chroma Catalyst.

The Continent (Northeast Exploration)

Return to the spawn island and explore the northeast area. Head to the large island in the northeast. On the other side of this island, you'll find a portal leading to Painting Workshop I, and on the eastern shore of this island, in a camp, you will find Pictos - Accelerating Heal.

After this, head back to the spawn island and make your way to the extreme north to reach the portal to the Forgotten Battlefield.
